Kristina Nelson returns to historic Prairie Plains, Oklahoma, to buy back and restore her family home. But a mysterious stranger outbids her for the run-down Queen Anne. Kristina's kindergarten students believe the house is inhabited by a ghost but Evan Smith, the new owner, is all too real. Furthermore, he wants to demolish the house. What would bring this Londoner to Prairie Plains? Despite the fact they have nothing in common but an admiration for the same mystery writer, Kristina finds herself attracted to Evan.
