About This Book
"The Bathurst Street Kitchen Cookbook is a collection of the Greater Toronto Area Jewish Community's Go-To Recipes. The recipes are traditional and trendy, from those whose country of origin is Canada, or abroad. This is not a cookbook of Jewish foods, but rather a reflection of what the varied Jewish community in Toronto is currently cooking. While not a kosher cookbook or a cookbook of Jewish foods, it does conform to Kosher rules. It also includes a brief history of the Toronto Jewish community, factoids about the United Jewish Appeal of Greater Toronto, and a list of resources in the Jewish community. Vintage photos in the book are of food-related people/places in Toronto from the Ontario Jewish Archives."
