The Elusive Countess

Lady Rosaline escapes her cousin who is determined to take over her substantial inheritance for himself. On the stormy night of her flight she takes shelter on the moors with a mysterious man who she fears has been sent to find her. Running away from him the next morning, she manages to join a troupe of actors incognito. But she meets the mysterious man again when she is invited to the estate of a lord who is a theater aficionado. The mystery man is the lord’s secretary, and she is free to turn to him for love and protection.
