About This Book

The series of papers which make up this book make no pretence to being an exhaustive commentary on the Church Constitution. They are rather treatments of basic ecclesiological ideas or problems in the fight of the Constitution. The Constitution itself is too vast, too profound to be exhausted in the few lectures which a three-day Summer School can offer. The only real possibility is to attempt to single out major points and through treatment of them to try to help towards an understanding of the whole and stimulate further reading and meditation on it.
