A look at the British retail trade and changes since the second world war up until 1970, including interviews with market traders, grocers, chain stores, department stores, fashion, dairies, and the gift and book trade. A look into the future pomders whether a housewife of the future would dial an order into a computer, and see the goods automatically collected, packed and paid for, and find them delivered to her door.
Did the author, a BBC radio producer and editor of current affairs get it right? Seems fanciful to me!
