These nostalgic memoirs, named after the blue spring flower of the Siberian step, are written by the almost octogenarian I.K. They cover a period in the early 1900s, before the Russian revolution, when she lived as a teenager in Siberia. Her father was employed by the Great Northern Telegraph Company (Store Nordiske Telegrafselskab A/S) and was posted in Ulaanbataar in Mongolia and then in Irkutsk, in Siberia. The author describes her 7 years in Irkutsk, provides insights into the local customs and practices, offers a glimpse of the shifts in nature shifts and takes the reader on trips to Mongolia and China. The printed book is illustrated.
