Maaike's little diary

Maike jam packs the true story of her one-sided flirtationship with Pete and the resentment she harbors over the obligation placed on her to mitigate his unwanted advances, all onto one side of a single sheet of paper folded in four quarters; on the other side of the page, she reprints a comic previously in Girlfrenzy depicting a night out with her visiting cartoonist friends wherein they share a home-cooked meal, play the computer game Eliza, and reluctantly go out for beers. Maike’s Little Diary is an autobio comic drawn in tight, compacted miniature, fitting lengthy word bubbles and action scenes with stick figure friends into a whopping 59 and 26 panels, respectively. -- Claudia
