Il volume è il frutto di una collaborazione interdisciplinare tra storici del Risorgimento e geografi specializzati in storia della geografia, indirizzata a indagare modi e pratiche attraverso cui a Torino si elaborano tra Otto e Novecento idee e opere che tendono a ridisegnare un ruolo per la città, ma sono suscettibili soprattutto di contribuire al processo di costruzione della nazione. --

The volume is the outcome of interdisciplinary collaboration among historians of the Risorgimento and geographers specializing in the history of geography, addressed towards investigating approaches and practices through which ideas and works were developed in Turin in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. These ended up redesigning a role for the city, but above all they contributed to the process of building the nation. --
