The British army book

This book was first published in 1914, consists of 284 pages with 2 colour plates and 33 black and white plates. The book uses the original Red Army Book as its basis which brings an update of the British Army up to the Great War which was raging at the time. It has 19 chapters which discuss, sometimes in vary vivid terms the regiments of the army at that time, there formation, dress, and major battles. It includes chapters on the air forces, marines, pets in the regiments, war horses, regimental colours and prisoners of war. The plates, both b & w and coloured are fabulous. This is truly a military historian’s treasure.
