About This Book
This work evaluated the intervention made to the square of San Nicolás de Barranquilla in 2011 in order to determine, in qualitative terms, its level of effectiveness. For this purpose, three axes were determined: historical, which studies the urban, social and cultural transformations of the square, in order to reflect its dynamics, forms of appropriation and importance in the city; legal-institutional, which analyzes the legal framework and instruments of territorial planning that support the intervention, and in this way understand the management model of the process; and socio-spatial, which contemplates the evaluation of the symbolic, the symbiotic, the exchange and the civic currently present in the square, to determine the type of public space that was generated in the process of recovering it.
