The work registers the dynamic of the formation of cities, the production, as well as the artistic and symbolic creativity. Specialists of each different region of the country that have dedicated their lives to the protection and promotion of architectural patrimony were gathered to contribute chapters. This work is a consolidation of knowledge that has rarely been presented by a narrative as systematized as seen here, and that allows the reader to build a real portrait of the formation of Brazil.
