The merchant knight, Adamjee Haji Dawood

A great story of an ambitious individual yet selfless ,who financed the creation of a nation - Pakistan. Not many stories of people financing a nation ! Sir Adamjee started trading in commodities during the first & second world war. hitting it big he went on to establish schools, colleges and hospitals all over India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. He is remembered today as the one who made a blank cheque offer to Quaid-e-Azam Mohamed Ali Jinnah - the founding father of Pakistan. Secondly Sir Adamjee established the worlds largest jute processing company in Bangladesh, employing some 50,000 persons, and revolutionized the industry.
