Anthropological study of artisans and their role in rural society based on research in "magical village" of Guanajuato, known for its musical instruments, musicians, and for its cooking implements. First section shares experiences and voices of craftsmen who make hot cocoa whisks, cooking pans and mortars; second studies life and work of performers and artisans who make tubas and saxophones; and last chapter describes difficulties and challenges they share.
