La Ley televisa y la lucha por el poder en México

Describes and analyzes people's experience with violence in several areas of Mexico, focusing on ways common citizens were affected by and responded to drug-related violence during Calderón administration (2006-2012). Uses discourse analysis to identify instances of "social murmur," which author defines as statements about daily life outside of and often in contrast to official discourse. Also highlights tactics and strategies citizens use to survive in northern border and southern Pacific regions.
