The generation of "Los Contemporáneos", was a Mexican modernist group, active in the late 1920's and early 1930's of 11 literates that included José y Celestino Gorostiza, Gilberto Owen, Bernardo Ortiz de Montellano, Jaime Torres Bodet, Salvador Novo, Xavier Villaurrutia, Enrique González Rojo, Carlos Pellicer, Jorge Cuesta and Samuel Ramos. The book includes texts by Miguel Capistrán, Luis Mario Schneider, Adolfo Castañón, José Joaquin Blanco, Alberto Enríquez Perea, Rosa García, Guillermo Sheridan, Anthony Stanton, Víctor Díaz, Marisol Luna, Arturo Rodríguez, Erika Madrigal, Evodio Escalante, Rafael Vargas and Víctor Soto, amongst others.
