Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office

The Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office documents, preserves and promotes Wyoming's heritage. Provides access to information on Office activities and services including Assists Wyoming property owners in listing their historic properties in the National Register of Historic Places; assists propery owners comply with federal review and compliance (section 106) regulations; maintains a cultural records data base of historic and prehistoric sites and associated projects; maintains the oldest monuments and markers program in the United States; provides technical assistance in a variety of cultural resource areas; assists communities and counties in becoming certified local governments under federal regulations; conducts preservation programs in schools and for organizations and groups; develops and carries out a statewide historic preservation plan; and photographs and documents significant cultural resources in the state.
