Girls Rock Camp

Editors Dawn and Des, library workers at Simmons College, lead a Girls Rock Camp Boston zine making session with tweens and teens about feminism and girlhood. Topics include criticizing society's beauty expectations for women, school dress codes, challenging the idea that girls are only preoccupied with boys, and condemning women's magazines for sending unhealthy messages. The text is handwritten by the creators in various colors and there are collages and visuals with cut and paste images from magazines.
