About This Book

This book, written by Zaya Yeebo is about the coup that brought Lt. Yahya Jammeh to power in the Gambia. Zaya was working for Action Aid (The Gambia) when the coup occured. Used his experiences of military dictatorships in West Africa, to warn Gambians that Yahya Jammeh would not handover power as he had promised, that the regime would be more vicious than the Sir Dawda Jawara government. To date, the Yahya Jammeh regime in the Gambia has trnaistioned from a militaty dictatorship to a civilian regime, with no change. Huamn rights abuses abound. Yahya Jammeh even claims that he has a cure for HIV/AIDS.
