Professor Andrew Melo Mendes presents "Maps of Arlindo Daibert: dialogues between images and texts". Understanding reading comprehension as a complex process, the author explores the possibility of the graphic images produced by Arlindo Daibert Amaral (b. Juiz de Fora, 1952 - São Paulo, 1993) separate from the their main sources -the 1956 novel "Grande Sertão: Veredas" (Great Backlands: Tracks) by João Guimarães Rosa, his partner and inspiration - while also assess the ability of these fantastic realism of regional-"tropicalismo" images to open new interpretative possibilities for the book.
