Application of Traffic Simulation Models

This publication presents an overall summary, the resource papers and workshop summaries of a conference on traffic simulation models. The conference had two objectives: to inform the user community about what models are available and what is planned for their future development; and to obtain feedback from users on their experiences in the application of simulation models and the needs that become apparent with experience. Four papers were presented on existing models for traffic simulation analysis. Three papers reported user experience with the most widely used traffic network simulation model--NETSIM. Two papers examined current and future developments. The workshop sessions covered the application of simulation by models by different user groups, and technical issues in simulation modeling and application. Papers presented at the workshops and papers presented for the proceedings are also included.
