About This Book

This was my Master's degree Thesis. The problem to solve was displaying and archiving data collected by the University's Weather Radar System in a way that can be interpretted by Metrologists. The problem is trivial these days but my work involved the use of Magnetic Core Memories and a PDP 9 Minicomputer. I was able to animate a sequence of Weather Maps which in turn enabled a Metrologist from the Bracknell Weather Centre (Dr. Browining) to confirm his rolling convection (if my memory serves me). Prof Shearman took these animation sequences on a world tour and later told me many said their research was not to advanced. It made me proud and later my learning helped me with a major invention and work with body and brain scanners at EMI Medical.

Technically, all this is trivial stuff today but we had to do the trivia to make today's achievements possible!
