Fiktion im Historischen

This study looks at the conceptual use of imagery in Lucan's Bellum Civile, taking a comprehensive approach that analyzes his brief comparisons, metaphors, and examples. Lucan uses imagery to communicate the roles and behavior of his characters. Elements of imagery serve as markers that stress the character traits of the protagonists that are constuitive for the epic, and that focus on decisive plot events.
