Bumazhnyĭ Vertov--T︠S︡elluloidnyĭ Mai︠a︡kovskiĭ

The book re-contextualizes two key figures of the Russian revolutionary avant-garde: the film director Dziga Vertov as a literary author, and the poet Vladimir Mai︠a︡kovskiĭ as a film actor and screenwriter. The author examines various parallels in the two men's lives, art, and aesthetics as a kind of textual dialogue. Includes Mai︠a︡kovskiĭ's writings on cinema and previously unpublished poetry by Vertov.
