The purpose of Health Policy and the Uninsured is to improve our understanding about one of the nation's most pressing problems -- lack of health insurance coverage for all Americans. This book was developed as part of the work of the Economic Research Initiative on the Uninsured, funded by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, to address some of the most perplexing questions about why people lack health insurance in the United States and to provide needed information to policy-makers. - Preface.
