About This Book

Colonization created the possibility of intercultural coexistence between diverse populations, following the model of the Baroque culture, whose spiritual values had great longevity in the Captaincy and later Province of Minas Gerais, persisting even though the Rococo style (1760-1840). Despite its transformation and profound dynamism, this system of life lasted in Minas Gerais until the middle of the 19th century as its imposing vision of a Baroque world lived with, but also transformed the indigenous and African pagan cultures.
