About This Book

The United States Arms Control and Disarmament Agency (ACDA) is charged with the conduct of the studies on the economic consequences of arms control and disarmament and, in carrying out this responsibility since its establishment in 1961, has sponsored a large number of studies dealing with problems of aggregate, manpower, and regional adjustment to changes in defense spending. The purpose of this study for ACDA is to undertake a preliminary examination of the 'adequacy' of pensions, severance pay, and other fringe benefits for defense workers in the event of layoffs which would occur as the result of arms control or disarmament.
