Analytical perspectives range from idiomatic to strictly linguistic: one essay looks at historic, social and linguistic climate of Guadalajara; another examines uses of tú and usted. Another studies use of diminutive forms of expression in this city and elsewhere in world; one essay discusses use of prototypically reformulating markers; and one considers uses of irony among youth.
