Allah n'est pas obligé is narrated by a young boy, Birahima. Not even a teenager, the boy gets caught up in the regional turmoils and conflicts, a boy-soldier witness to the outrages perpetrated by the corrupt and evil leaders of various West African countries, especially Liberia and Sierra Leone, in the mid-1990s.
