At First Glance

The very first time they met, sparks of mingled attraction and antagonism flew between Gay Fenton and Luke Ashley - but at that time it didn't seem likely that they would ever meet again, so no harm was done. But they did meet again, in very different circumstances - and this time, although Gay could not deny that the attraction was still there, Luke got entirely the wrong impression of her. So what use was it her falling in love with him, when there was now such an unbridgeable gap between them?
