Descriptive catalogue, fully illustrated, of the machete study collection assembled by the prominent Puerto Rican archaeologist and well known historian, Dr. Ovidio Dávila, which is on permanent exhibition in the Hacienda Esperanza Sugar Mill Museum located in Manatí, Puerto Rico.

The collection comprises 389 machetes of different styles and sizes, all antique or vintage items corresponding to the 1870-1970 period, most manufactured by the Collins & Co. cutting tool factury at Harford, Connecticut, and the Ralph Martindale Company at Buminghan, England. It constitutes the larguest and most complete collection of this type of agricultural and all purpose cutting tool ever assembled in the World.
