The Man in Authority

It was not love that drew Moira Lang closer and closer to Philip Melmore, the man she was nursing back to health after an air-crash. Her heart had been given, from their first meeting, to Philip's brother Grant; but Grant was, it seemed, in thrall to a tragic memory. And even if that had not been so, Grant had hurt Philip once, against his will; never would he deliberately take away the one thing that Philip had left to live for. A lot of people, in fact, were making sacrifices for Philip's sake -- but was it necessarily the right solution to his problems?
