Megan had already decided to enter a convent when she returned from searching for her missing paintings in Adelaide.

Instead, she found herself nursing famous Australian actress Susan Shea Talbot, and falling in love with Richard Talbot, Susan's stepson, though Megan thinks he's Susan's husband. Richard is an embittered man who thinks Megan is a 'Call Girl', and his misogynistic feelings include his daughter... and Megan.
