E-Echoes of the Past

At a schoolwide reunion in 2009, former students of Edcouch-Elsa High School came up with the idea of writing a book of histories of families who had populated that area--the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas--since the early 1900s. Former students were to write a two-page history of how their familiy came to be in the Valley and forward them to Naomi Vivian Ridge (Class of '46). Eighty-four of these family history/biographies were submitted, and they were compiled into 178-page book. It was published in December 2009 and sold out by February 15, 2010. A second printing was ordered, and there are still a few dozen available.
