Bertram and his Funny Animals

A collection of short stories, originally published in Child Life Magazine, featuring a boy named Bertram whose fascination with animals gets him into a lot of trouble. Things get very complicated when he wishes for an animal and then stumbles upon that very animal and brings it home, with some unexpected results. The characters also include his brother Baby Sam, his exasperated Mama, a father always off on business trips to Omaha and coming back just in the nick of time, and Bertram's friends, George Fish and Ginny Banning, among others.
