About This Book
Geoffrey Trease should have received high honours, for the 200 or so books he wrote for teenagers. He wrote mysteries, romances (that could be and were read by boys as well as girls) and, most importantly, historical novels, mostly set in England, but many in Europe, covering important events from 200 BC to 1980. The closest North American writer was Stephen Meader, but his historical novels typically did not contain the detail that Trease provided. Canada has no-one even close.
