"Bradwell tells of his brief time as a member of Stonewall Jackson's "foot cavalry," his later experience among the Confederate infantry making the deepest penetration into the North during the Gettysburg Campaign, and part of the last of Lee's army to leave enemy soil after the Gettysburg invasion.
