About This Book
In the field of French-speaking literatures, we can currently count around twenty French-speaking Chinese authors: Chen Jitong, Sheng Cheng, Zhou Qinli, François Cheng, Gao Xingjian, Shen Dali, Ya Ding, Dai Sijie, Ying Chen, Wei Wei, Shan Sa, and Ling Xi, etc. These writers circulate in different cultures, use two languages, and, therefore, their writing mixes a Chinese color with a Western color. How did French-speaking Chinese literature develop? And how to apprehend the novel writing and the artistic practice of the Chinese French-speaking authors? Centered on French-speaking Chinese authors and their works, our work formulates a hypothesis on the articulation between interculturality and intermediality within the Chinese Francophonie.
