Land Tenure and Unemployment

The author traces the history of land tenure and unemployment in England from the Middle Ages until the time of writing, 1925. He demonstrates the direct connection between unemployment and land enclosure, with particular reference to the enclosures of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries and the Parliamentary Enclosures of 1760 to 1844.
