About This Book
This report summarizes the minimum prices which are currently being supported by several programs in the United States Department of Agriculture. The only programs included in the summary are those which provide for purchases, loans, or similar operations to prevent the price of a commodity falling below a definite, stated level. In addition to the programs summarized here, the Department, in effect, is supporting the prices of farm products through the Food Stamp Program and through several purchase and diversion operations administered by the Agricultural Marketing Administration as well as acreage allotment and marketing and quota programs administered by the Agricultural Conservation and Adjustment Administration.
