This collection of Dominic Scappaticcio's photographs, the first publication of the Italo-Scottish Research Cluster based at Edinburgh University, embodies the aims of the entire project, namely tracing and curating the past for future generations while also encouraging dialogue between Italy and Scotland. The distinctive images of this catalogue breathe life into the history of the many Italo-Scots who originated in the Cassino area. It is therefore appropriate that Professor Pedriali has chosen to present this publication at the iconic European site of Montecassino, ensuring the event itself becomes part of Scottish-Italian history.
