Chelm is overal

These stories are a unique collection of over twenty-five Jewish fairy tales hardly known in Dutch. Chelm is a town where, according to Jewish storytelling tradition, is full of goofy schlemazzels - that is, fools and idiots, morons and the unlucky. Although life is hard for the inhabitants of Chelm, they are happy in their folly, and that makes them almost touchingly wise.
