About This Book
William Coles Finch was the resident engineer at the waterworks at Luton, Chatham, Kent. He held this position for many years, I believe for about 43 years, up to his retirement apparently due to poor health in 1938. This appears to be his first book (as far as I am aware) and may be considered as a general work outlining the characteristics of water and its influence upon the natural world based upon his knowledge as a water engineer but very much in a manner that can be read by those with an interest in the subject but not necessarily with a professional background.
