Ilya Repin

Painter Ilya Repin is the most famous master of Russian art. Above all, he is renowned for his portrayals of the Russian people and for his lively, psychological portraits. The articles in this book examine the artist's long career and wide-ranging work through new studies. Repin's career is also entwined with the early years of Finnish independence.
