al-Irshād ilá muhimmāt ʿilm al-isnād

[An account of the Shaikhs with whom the author studied, of the teachers from whom they learnt, and of those through whom their knowledge had been transmitted from the time of Muḥammad downwards. To which are added three other tracts, namely : (1) Risālat awā’il kutub al-ḥadīth, a collection of the first traditions recorded in the principal books of Tradition, by Muḥammad Saʿīd ibn Muḥammad Sunbul ; (2) Tarājim al-Bukhārī, a brief notice of the scope and method of the collection of traditions of al-Bukhārī, entitled al-Jāmiʿ al-ṣaḥīḥ, by Walī Allāh ; and (3) Risālah fīmā yajib ḥifẓuh lil-nāẓir, a brief classification of the best known collections of traditions, according to reliability, by ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz Dihlavī.].
