Paperback itinerary of the Columbia River Special via the Great Northern Railway. The covers are multi-colored and illustrated, held together with two staples in the spine. The bow of a masted ship and it's sail is the background of the front cover, with 13 smaller illustrations in red and blue ink inside rope-circles around the edges. The back cover is tan in color, with three illustrations of important monuments seen by the participants in this train ride from Illinois to Oregon and back. There is an illustration of the Astoria Column in the bottom right corner. The participants got to Astoria in time for the formal dedication of the Column.  The covers are larger than the outside pages. Size of covers: 7" x 10"  Size of interior pages: 6" x 9"
