About This Book

It is an epistolary novel, except that the "letters" are taped, one letter for each month. The husband's letters, dated according to the Gregorian calendar, are about his experiences as a migrant worker, while the wife's letters, dated according to the Bengali calendar, are about her experiences back home. Each chapter is preceded by a recipe, the main ingredient of which is rice.
