Selenĭe Ross

This history of Fort Ross was written after the California gold rush as a defense of the Russian American Company for abandoning the only Russian outpost in this rich region. The pamphlet details the economic reasons for the fort's founding, wary relations with the Spanish in San Franscisco, early agricultural efforts and the financial conditions leading to the post's eventual abandonment.
