Festschrift in honor of Jeff Th.M. De Hosson

Jeff Th.M. De Hosson holds a Crown appointment -- made by Her Majesty Queen Juliana by Royal Decree of October 6th, 1977 -- as Professor of Applied Physics at the University of Groningen. In the present *Festschrift* De Hosson is honored on the occasion of his 35 years' jubilee for his tireless endeavors of promoting the cause of the physical sciences in general and that of Applied Physics and Materials Science in particular. This collection of articles reflects the state-of-the-art of a florishing science, with contributions from all over the world. It also features a Bibliography of publications by Professor De Hosson and a list of his PhD-students. This *Festschrift* is completed by an Index of names.
