About This Book
The experiences of an Australian Army Nursing Sister during the war, 1915-18, based on her diaries. She enlisted at the age of 31 on the 4 August 1915. Serving initially with No 1 Australian General Hospital (1 AGH) in Egypt, she worked in a number of locations before moving to England in August 1916, then to France in March 1917. She remained there until the end of the war.
She wrote under the name May, but her first name appears to have been Mabel.
