Casa Godinho

The theme of this book brings to light the architectural and historic aspects of the city of São Paulo, with special attention to the city's downtown area, known as the "Centro Velho". In particular, the text focuses in the Casa Godinho as a place full of colors, tastes and smells that evoke a São Paulo from the past, with its original architecture, the Brazilian walnut wood shelves, its hydraulic tiles, countertops and quality of their imported delicacies. The Casa Godinho is, above all, an excellent example of Belle Époque architecture in Sao Paulo, constructed by Portuguese immigrants seeking the products from their homeland. Casa Gordinho was named Intangible Cultural Heritage of the city of São Paulo in 2012.
